About Us

My photo
After an 8 year battle with infertility and countless struggles, our family is finally complete. This blog chronicles the journey it took for us to start and build the family we always wanted. Background on the blog (started in 2012, just days before I found out the embryo transfer for our son worked).... I decided to start a blog after realizing I have only been able to make it through my TWW's (two week waits) with the help of Google and with the openness of other women suffering from infertility sharing their own stories and giving others hope. I have time and time again found my exact symptoms on other women's blogs and felt an overwhelming sense of calmness they provided me. I thought it was time to pay it forward and hopefully provide this same thing to other women on their own journeys.

Okay so first off, I sincerely apologize for these posts being so anti-climactic and boring. Still nothing to report. I haven't had a cramp in days so I'm still losing hope by the hour. I have read almost everything there is to read courtesy of google and I have come to realize that my severe negativity is just a coping mechanism. Everyone has different mechanisms but mine is negativity. I prepared for the absolute worst so I can be surprised if something better happens but not blindsided if it doesn't.

Days Past
Transfer (DPT)
Embryo Development
OneThe embryo continues to grow and develop, turning from a 6-8 cell embryo into a morula
TwoThe cells of the morula continue to divide, developing into a blastocyst
ThreeThe blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell
FourThe blastocyst continues to hatch out of its shell and begins to attach itself to the uterus
FiveThe blastocyst attaches deeper into the uterine lining, beginning implantation
SixImplantation continues
SevenImplantation is complete, cells that will eventually become the placenta and fetus have begun to develop
EightHuman chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) starts to enter the blood stream
NineFetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
TenFetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
ElevenLevels of hCG are now high enough to detect a pregnancy

Trigger update:  The trigger is finally negative 10 days post trigger (bottom stick)!! Now, if I get a positive pregnancy test from here on out I know it will be all from the baby!!! ****UPDATE....came home from work and there is definitely a line on 10 days past trigger. Will test again tomorrow.

Close up:

Symptoms: I was awake from 11:30pm to 1:30pm just wide awake and super hot. I would bet it is a side effect of the steroid they have me on. Luckily last night's pill was the last one!! So I pray I still soundly tonight. This morning when I stretched in bed I had a TINY feeling of tugging on my uterus but that could have been a left over ovary pain from the retrieval. I am grasping at straws for any symptoms. Today is 5dp3dt...which is equivalent to 8dpo (8 days past ovulation). With Victor's successful cycle on 3dp5dt (which would also be 8dpo) I had my first symptoms today...constant cramps. So please God, let the cramps begin!!!!!!!
