(weight of a rutabaga)
How Far Along: 25 weeks! Only 1.5 weeks until the third trimester!!!
Gender: BOY!!!!!!
Size of baby (from babycenter.com): Your baby rivals the average rutabaga in weight -- about 1 1/2 pounds. (Length: 13 1/2 inches, head to heel.)
My baby this week (from babycenter.com): Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
Stretch Marks: No.
Sleep: The past week has been pretty good. I upped my pillow count to 5 pillows now. One for my head and 2 for each side of me (1 up by my torso and 1 by my legs).
Best Moment of the Week: This is now the category "worst moment of the week".... Getting weighed at the OB's office. Holy hell am I fat as as hell. I am on par to hit 200 lbs before this baby is born. I don't really eat that poorly and I take walks everyday. What gives?!?!?
Movement: Yes. It was ramping up to be a lot but the last day or two it hasn't been the much. I wonder if he moved to a different position where I can't feel him as well.
Food cravings: No cravings. Especially after I got weighed!
What I Miss: Being able to shave parts of my body that need sight to shave. :(
What I'm Looking Forward To: I am excited to see him again on June 28th's sono and then even more on July 7th's 3D ultrasound!
Milestones: Every day he has more and more chance to survive outside the womb!
Emotions: Everything spans from getting weighed... so my emotions this week are sad. I worked hard to get thin before this pregnancy and I just feel like I am throwing it all away. I know he is so worth it but it still sucks!
Symptoms: I now am a proud Tums consumer for heartburn.
1. Go buy a pregnancy pillow. They're ridiculously overpriced but BELIEVE me, they help. I'm about to go get one myself. I tried going cheap this time and buying a body pillow (as I JUST threw my old one out before I got pregnant this time!), but it DOESN'T work. Get a pregnancy pillow.
ReplyDelete2. I hit 200 lbs with all 3 pregnancies. Well, I'm not sure if I've hit it yet in this one but I will by the end. That's not abnormal and you're fine. They're just numbers. Remember that
Baby: 7 to 9 pounds
Larger breasts: 3 to 4 pounds
Larger uterus: 2 pounds
Placenta: 1 1/2 pounds
Amniotic fluid: 2+ pounds
Increased blood volume: 3 to 4 pounds
Increased fluid volume: 2 to 3 pounds
Fat stores: 6 to 8 pounds (and if your fat content was low before, you'll make this up early in pregnancy)
Don't worry- you'll be burning 500+ EXTRA calories a day when you're nursing. Do not worry about the weight gain- it will go away.
I hate the shaving issues, as well.
Promise, don't fret too much. Pregnancy weight gain can suck BUT if you don't gain enough that often means the baby isn't gaining enough. :-)
Thanks again Mariah. I can never have too many pep talks. My weight has me REALLY upset lately. I went for a walk today and was fat, hot, sweaty, and there were bugs flying around me. Let's just say, I was in the worse mood yet this pregnancy.
