"Just relax and it will happen"....That dreaded piece of advice ALL women going through infertility have heard time and time again. If relaxing made babies, wouldn't we all be pregnant by now?
After an 8 year battle with infertility and countless struggles, our family is finally complete. This blog chronicles the journey it took for us to start and build the family we always wanted. Background on the blog (started in 2012, just days before I found out the embryo transfer for our son worked).... I decided to start a blog after realizing I have only been able to make it through my TWW's (two week waits) with the help of Google and with the openness of other women suffering from infertility sharing their own stories and giving others hope. I have time and time again found my exact symptoms on other women's blogs and felt an overwhelming sense of calmness they provided me. I thought it was time to pay it forward and hopefully provide this same thing to other women on their own journeys.
Only 560. Should have been 660 today. 54 hour doubling time which is technically "normal" since "normal" is 48-72 hours. I'm pretty sad. :( I just want to know one way or the other at this point. Being in beta limbo is PURE AGONY.
I'm so sorry. I have been thinking about you all day. I started following your blog when you were pregnant with Victor. Question, have you ever been tested for the MTHFR mutation? Or do you take extra folic acid? My friend and I were both diagnosed with it. I kept having slow developments with my pregnancies and she was able to conceive her son before her mutation started affecting her pregnancies. She had 3 miscarriages before getting tested for it.
Amber, what did they do to treat your friend? I most assuredly have the mutation as my brother has it and I show signs for it as well. What should I do? Is there anything that can be done to salvage THIS pregnancy??????
I'm not sure about how to improve your current pregnancy. However, I would most certainly get tested. We completed IVF#2 after I was diagnosed and have managed to get to 30 weeks. I started taking 4mg of folic acid on top of my prenatal daily a year before we tried again. My RE also placed me on baby aspirin. Once I was pregnant and released my OB put me on lovenox as well. I know with the mthfr mutation you can have elevated homocystein levels. Being on extra folic acid lowers those levels. My friend has PCOS but is able to get pregnant.. sometimes it just takes several months. She will now be on the same protocol as I was but lovenox will be added once her pregnancy is confirmed. For now she's on baby aspirin and folic acid. She only as a mutation of one copy. I have both the A1298C & C677T mutation.
Maybe you can look into adding extra folic acid now? Don't give up. I was in beta bell before but had a miscarriage at 13 weeks. I'm not sure if folic acid would have prevented that outcome but I will never know. I've heard of women going through what you're experiencing and everything works out. Praying and thinking about you!
Lauree--Please do not give up hope! I know the numbers aren't exactly where you want them but they are still well within the normal limits. I seem to remember someone tellling me not too long ago that maybe it was just a boy that was a slow grower? Wasn't that you? Have faith lady! I am praying for you.
Continuing to pray with all my heart. I've had friends forums, one very recently, that had low betas that weren't quite doubling as we hope and was even told that it didn't look good. She's 20 weeks along now. So it does happen. Hang in there!!
Thank you Amber. I went to my brother's house and took some emergency methylated folate, b6 and b12. He gave me enough of all of that to get me until my order from Amazon arrives. I also ordered a 23andme generic test that will be here hopefully by the end of the week.

DeleteWhat did the nurse say? That should still have you doubling within 72 hours, right? I'm not losing hope for you yet!
