About Us

My photo
After an 8 year battle with infertility and countless struggles, our family is finally complete. This blog chronicles the journey it took for us to start and build the family we always wanted. Background on the blog (started in 2012, just days before I found out the embryo transfer for our son worked).... I decided to start a blog after realizing I have only been able to make it through my TWW's (two week waits) with the help of Google and with the openness of other women suffering from infertility sharing their own stories and giving others hope. I have time and time again found my exact symptoms on other women's blogs and felt an overwhelming sense of calmness they provided me. I thought it was time to pay it forward and hopefully provide this same thing to other women on their own journeys.

30w6d - Weekly update, sono pics, bump pic!

Better late than never!  Tomorrow I'll be 31 weeks but it's never too late to write a 30 week update, right?  LOL

Babies this week:
  • Baby's skin is getting smoother.
  • But baby's brain is getting wrinklier-to make way for all that essential brain tissue.
  • Baby's now strong enough to grasp a finger!
  • Your 15.2- to 16.7-inch, 2.5- to 3.8-pound baby continues to grow.

27w0d - Weekly update and sono pics!!

27 weeks!!   Third trimester (at least according to the American Pregnancy Association lol)!!!   >90% viability!!   Next milestone is 30 weeks which it goes up to 95%!  :)

Had an ultrasound at 27 weeks exactly.  Baby A, our girl, weighed 2lb 8oz.   Baby B, our boy, weighed 2lb 4oz.

Babies this week:
  • Baby's practicing inhaling and exhaling with his or her rapidly developing lungs.
  • It's official: Baby's showing brain activity! And the brain will keep on getting more complex.
  • At 13.6 to 14.8 inches and 1.5 to 2.5 pounds, baby's not just getting bigger, but also getting smarter.

Baby boy is the only one who showed us his sweet face today.

24w1d - Ultrasound!!

Had a sonogram in Erie.  It was quite the sonogram.  I almost passed out!!   I was laying on my back, looking up at the TV, and all of sudden started getting super hot and nauseas.   The tech sat me up and I still felt like I was going to faint.  I started dripping sweat and my hands were tingling and my extremities were hard to move.  It was scary.   They say, laying on you back while pregnant cuts off blood to something or other.  I truly think this was a little of that and a little of a panic attack.  I've been feeling anxious a lot lately (with all the cord things).  So I wouldn't be surprised if it was part panic attack.  Anyways, babies looked great....

Baby A Measurements:
Head 24w5d
Arm 24w1d
Belly 24w3d
Thigh 24w3d
148bpm
Estimated weight: 1lb 10oz

Baby B Measurements:
Head 24w3d
Arm 24w6d
Belly 24w1d
Thigh 24w4d
150bpm
Estimated weight: 1lb 8oz

20w1d - Ultrasound

Saw our babies today at 20 weeks + 1 day.   I'm sad to report that baby B (our boy) has what's called a velamentous cord insertion (VCI) where the cord inserts into the sac instead of the placenta.    I'll let you do your own googling if you choose but prayers are definitely appreciated.   I'll update the post later with more information when I'm at a desktop.   Please pray!!

And again comparing Victor (left at 18 weeks) to his brother (right at 20 weeks). They look so much alike!
