About Us

My photo
After an 8 year battle with infertility and countless struggles, our family is finally complete. This blog chronicles the journey it took for us to start and build the family we always wanted. Background on the blog (started in 2012, just days before I found out the embryo transfer for our son worked).... I decided to start a blog after realizing I have only been able to make it through my TWW's (two week waits) with the help of Google and with the openness of other women suffering from infertility sharing their own stories and giving others hope. I have time and time again found my exact symptoms on other women's blogs and felt an overwhelming sense of calmness they provided me. I thought it was time to pay it forward and hopefully provide this same thing to other women on their own journeys.

29w3d - Weekly update!!

Another week down!   9 to go (til c-section).

Breast Pump Drama
I need to call my insurance... I tried ordering a free pump (now that insurance covers pumps) and they won't process the order until 32 days before my due date.  Considering my due date is 11/08, that would put me at 10/06 for ordering a pump.  Average gestation of twins is 35 weeks.  That's 10/04.  I'd really like to have the pump before they arrive.  Granted, I have 2 old Avent pumps from Victor's day, but I'd like to get this pump drama squared away so I don't have to think about it anymore!

Nursery
The nursery needs A LOT of work still.  We have a contractor coming on 9/12 to put shoe molding around the baseboard where they meet the hardwood.  When we ripped out the carpet, we were shocked to see that who ever installed it, actually installed 50% of it UNDER the baseboards.  So half the room the baseboards meet the hardwood nicely.  In the other half of the room, there is a 3/4" gap between the baseboard and the hardwood.  A little shoe molding should hide that nicely.    Only after that is done can we clean the floors.   Then we wait for the area rug to be delivered.  I still need to get Victor's crib back from my sis in law.  We won't buy a second crib until after the babies are born.

Clothes
My mom is coming up tomorrow to help me go through the 10+ tubs of old Victor baby things (clothes, bottles, etc) to see what's what and wash the newborn clothes.

Overall
I feel so unprepared and 30 weeks is just days away.  That's only 5 more weeks til average twin gestation!!   Eeeeeek!!

Babies this week
  • Baby's getting a little cramped in there, given how fast he or she's growing. But you probably already realize that, since you're feeling all those kicks and jabs.
  • Baby's growing white fat deposits under his skin, and his or her energy is surging because of it.
  • Feel a subtle twitch? It might be baby hiccupping.
  • Baby already measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. Right now, baby weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds but still got a ways to go
